Tips for Cooking Frozen Taquitos in an Air Fryer
Taquitos frescos are a popular Mexican frozen snack that can be enjoyed by both children and adults.
Even though the package suggests microwaving or baking frozen taquitos, I find that the air fryer produces the most delicious results.
In just 8 minutes, they'll be piping hot, crisp, and golden brown.

FROZEN TAQUITOS IN THE AIR FRYER: WHY YOU'LL LOVE THEM
Superior to microwaving, which results in limp, greasy, and depressing taquitos. While this method is convenient, if you have a few minutes to spare, using an air fryer to cook the taquitos will yield the desired crispiness that can't be achieved in the microwave.
In a flash! No need to wait for the oven to heat up, to dirty a pan, or to bake taquitos. If you make them in an air fryer, they'll take twice as long, but you'll get twice as much crispiness.
Taquitos are a fan-favorite among school-aged children, and they're easy to prepare in an air fryer. Both frozen peirogis and mini corn dogs are hits with my kids, and we make them in the air fryer.

FROZEN INGREDIENTS FOR AIR FRYER TAQUIOS
Taquitos Frozen - Here we use Delimex, but you can use Jose Ole, El Monterey, or any brand you like to make taquitos in the air fryer.
You can use this technique with any brand or variety of frozen taquitos. Both corn and flour tortillas, as well as chicken and beef, can be used to make taquitos.

Should You Defrost Taquitos?
Nope Taquitos should be cooked directly from frozen in an air fryer, without defrosting first. As a result of using this method, they can be cooked straight from the freezer.
IN THE AIR FRYER, SHOULD I SPRAY THE TAQUITOS WITH OIL?
While I usually use a light spray of oil in most of my air fryer recipes, I've found that making taquitos in the air fryer eliminates the need for oil.
Taquitos, like many other frozen foods, typically come with oil already on them, and that oil is what makes them extra crispy and perfect in an air fryer.

ADVICE FOR COOKING FROZEN TAQUITOS IN AN AIR FRYER
- Remove the plastic wrap from your preferred frozen taquitos.
- In a single layer in the air fryer basket, place the taquitos. As many as your stovetop will accommodate. It's possible that you'll need to split your taquito-making into two batches in order to finish an entire box.
- Follow the steps in the recipe and air fry. To ensure that both sides of the taquitos become crisp, flip them over halfway through cooking. Add an additional two to three minutes to the cooking time for crispier taquitos.
- Frozen taquitos prepared in an air fryer can be enjoyed right away with the help of some tasty condiments.

WHAT TO SERVE ALONGSIDE AIR-FRIED FROZEN TACOS
Whenever I make air fryer taquitos, I like to serve them with a variety of dipping sauces. Top with sour cream, salsa, guacamole, or this easy cilantro garlic sauce. Yum
Taquitos can also be served with a variety of condiments and garnishes on the side, such as lettuce, sliced jalapenos, pico de gallo, and melted cheese.
Adding a fresh salad or vegetable side dish to your air fryer frozen taquitos will transform them from a snack into a full meal.

DO PREBOILED TAQUIOS GO INTO THE FREEZER?
Yes, I have found that all brands of frozen taquitos are precooked. That leaves you with the simple task of making sure they are thoroughly heated and crisp and delicious on the outside.
For reasons of food safety, it is recommended that you cook all fully cooked frozen foods to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit or 74 degrees Celsius.
Can I use an air fryer to cook frozen flautas?
When frozen, flautas taste very similar to frozen taquitos. The main distinction between taquitos and flautas is that the former are typically encased in corn tortillas while the latter are typically encased in wheat flour tortillas.
The good news is that both kinds of frozen rolled tacos can be prepared in the air fryer in the exact same way. If you have an air fryer, you can quickly and easily make taquitos or flautas from frozen by following the steps outlined here.
Can I Use an Air Fryer to Make Taquitos at Home?

Approximately HOW LONG DO YOU COOK FROZEN TAQUITOS IN AN AIR FRYER?
Cooking frozen taquitos in an air fryer at 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) takes about 8 minutes.
Taquitos from various frozen food brands may vary slightly in size, so keep an eye on them while they're cooking. Crispiness can be achieved in as little as 10 minutes or as much as 20 minutes, depending on your oven.
